"Some days, I’m deep in reflection; other days, I’m just trying to remember where I put my coffee"

Dear Friend,

I’m Gwen, a dweller of the Adelaide Hills—my little patch of the world where the air is fresh, the trees feel like old friends, and life moves just a little slower. It’s the perfect place for a soul like mine—to avoid the world while finding my way through motherhood and back home to myself.

Like many women, motherhood changed me in ways I never expected. The birth of my first child was the beginning of a soul-baring journey—an opening of the heart that broke me wide open. It didn’t come naturally to me. Yes, it was profoundly beautiful and magical, but it was also overwhelming, messy, and exhausting, often leaving little room for me. Somewhere along the way, I lost myself. But after 13 years, I think I’m finally starting to find my feet—and my place in the world—again.

This space—A Little Life in Bloom—is part of that journey. A gift to my soul. A calling from within that I’m learning to trust. A cozy corner where I reconnect with who I am beyond the roles of mother, teacher, introvert, and awkward human.

It’s a place to write, reflect, and share the messy, beautiful process of rediscovering (or perhaps reinventing) myself after becoming a mother. A space to learn self-love in its fullest form, and to find balance between motherhood and my own needs, wants, and deepest dreams and desires.

It’s a love letter—to the woman I was before motherhood, to the woman I am now, and to the one I am still becoming.

In the past few years, I’ve learned that taking care of yourself isn’t selfish—it’s necessary. It's about nurturing your soul with kindness and compassion, so you can turn up as your best self, and pour all that goodness into the world and into the people you love most.

So if you’re on a journey of your own—learning, growing, and finding your way back to yourself—I hope you’ll feel at home here. Whether you’re seeking inspiration, a moment of reassurance, an occasional laugh, or simply a reminder that you’re not alone in this beautiful labyrinth of life—welcome, beautiful soul. I’m so glad you’re here.

Let’s bloom together.

WITH LOVE
Gwen
