A Little Pocket of Peace

As mothers, we’re often the heartbeat of the home—caring, giving, holding space for everyone else. But who holds space for us? This post is about creating a small, sacred space in your home—just for you. A quiet spot to breathe and come home to yourself.

A Small Space, Just for You

I believe every mother needs a place in her home that belongs only to her.
Not a room with a lock, not a Pinterest-perfect retreat—just a soft place to fall. A space that welcomes you just as you are, whispering, Come. I will hold you.

It might be a quiet nook in the corner, a cosy chair by a sunlit window, or your favourite patch of garden where dappled light dances through the trees—where birds and butterflies remind you of life’s simple beauties.

A place where you can take a breath that doesn’t involve anyone else’s needs.

Somewhere to remember that you’re not only the steward of daily life, but also the tender of your own.

As mothers, we give so much.

But we need somewhere to return to, even if only for five minutes—a quiet refuge that feels like coming home to ourselves. A space that reminds you: your inner world matters.

Lovingly adorn it with only the things you truly love—a leafy plant, a well-worn book, your journal, or that small, beautiful stone, leaf or flower your child so proudly gave you on a walk.

Maybe a little incense, a statue of your deity, or a crystal that catches the light just right.

Let it become a place where small magic gathers—
Where thoughts soften,
Emotions are tended to,
And what matters most can finally rise to the surface without the noise of the world.

A space where your inner voice grows clearer, where inspiration returns, and those quiet whispers you often miss might finally be heard.

Fill it with gentle rituals that anchor you—
Lighting a candle,
Sipping tea slowly,
Writing what’s on your heart.

Small acts that honour your well-being, your growth, your spirit.

This isn’t about escaping your life.
It’s about coming home to yourself within it.

Find that space. Let it be yours.
A sanctuary that holds you through the best and hardest of days.
A space where, even in the chaos, your soul is still blooming.

P.S. A little journaling moment:

If you don't yet have a space of your own, take a moment to reflect on these questions and allow yourself to imagine what your sacred space could look like.

Let your answers guide you in creating a place where you can come home to yourself.

  • What small corner of your home feels like it could be just for you?
Think about the places that bring you peace, even in the midst of everyday life.

  • What objects or symbols make you feel grounded or inspired?
Consider the things—big or small—that bring comfort, beauty, or a sense of calm when you see them.

  • How can you make this space feel like a true retreat?
What elements (lighting, scent, sound) can you add to make it a place you can escape to, even for a few minutes?

  • When you close your eyes, what does the perfect, peaceful moment in this space look like?
Imagine yourself in this space—what are you doing, how do you feel, and what is surrounding you?

  • What small step can you take today to begin creating your sacred space?
It might be as simple as finding a corner, gathering a few meaningful items, or setting aside time to enjoy it—what can you do now?

Remember, even small moments of quiet can help you reconnect with yourself.

Wishing you peace and presence in creating your own sacred space.
